Why do I need an Energy Performance Assessment?
From 1st August 2007, any owner of a property with four or more bedrooms will require a Home Information Pack (HIP) in order to sell their home. By law the HIP must include an Energy Performance Certificate compiled by an accredited Domestic Energy Assessor. This document shows the official energy efficiency of a property. The certificate provides you with a rating for the property, showing its energy efficiency and environmental impact on a scale of A-G. It will also contain recommendations on how to improve the properties energy performance, and save you money.
